Complete Release

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - It was a light week in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball with just four games on the schedule highlighted by wins from Texas Lutheran and Dallas with six of 10 teams idle to focus on exams.

Texas Lutheran (1-5) secured its first win of the season last Tuesday, defeating Concordia (TX) at home, 66-57. Trailing by two at the half, the Bulldogs limited the Tornados to just 24 points and outscored them by 11 en route to a nine-point victory. Junior Abby Hroch led TLU with 18 points on a perfect 8-for-8 from the floor as the Bulldogs shot a season-best 44.4 percent (24-for-54) from the field as a team. Hroch also added six rebounds, a block and a steal in the win.

Dallas (2-4) defeated Dallas Christian at home Friday night, 64-60, after the Crusaders jumped out to an 11-0 lead to start the game and led by as many as 15 before sealing the four-point victory. Dallas scored 21 points off turnovers thanks in large part to a season-high 13 steals. The Crusaders also set a new season-high in blocks with five. Three of Dallas’ five starters finished in double-figures led by Madi Horne and Vanessa Diaz who each finished with 15. Jules Oliveti grabbed a season-best and game-high 13 rebounds to go along with seven points and two blocks.
