LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference placed three women's basketball players on the All-South Region team released Tuesday.

SCAC Women’s Player-of-the-Year, Abby Holland of Trinity University, earned First Team honors, while McKenzee Gertz of Colorado College was selected to the Second Team and Austin College’s Kacie West earned Third Team accolades.

Holland, a senior forward from Georgetown, Texas finished among the league leaders in several statistical categories despite finishing 15th in minutes played per game. She ranked third in the SCAC in scoring (18.7 points per game), third in field goal percentage (52.1 percent), second in steals (82), first in field goals made (219) and tied for ninth in rebounding (6.6 per game).

Holland reached the 20-point plateau 12 different times this season and recorded six double-doubles. This season, Holland moved into second place all-time on Trinity’s scoring charts and finished her career ninth in SCAC history with 1,690 career points. Additionally, she is just the sixth student-athlete in SCAC Women’s Basketball history to score at least 1,600 points and grab 600 career rebounds.

Gertz, a First Team All-SCAC performer, ranked among the conference leaders in virtually every statistical category. She led the SCAC averaging 9.2 rebounds and was second at 18.8 points per game.

Other highlights included finishing fourth with a .363 shooting percentage from behind the arc, 14th with a .434 overall field-goal percentage, and sixth with a .806 free-throw percentage.

The junior forward from Fort Collins, Colo. finished the year with a career-high 490 points, which ranks seventh on the program's single-season list. Her three-year total of 1,232 points is 10th on CC's career list. She scored 20 or more points on 12 occasions, including a career-high 29 in the 88-70 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University. Gertz grabbed double-digit rebounds 12 times, each of which resulted in a double-double.

West, a junior guard from Sulphur, Oklahoma, led a balanced Austin College offensive attack with 13.3 points-per-game this season, shooting 35.8 percent from three-point-range, good for fourth in the conference. She was also fifth in the SCAC in free throw percentage, hitting 81.3 from the line, and added 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals-per-game.

A First Team All-SCAC performer, West earned All-SCAC Tournament Team honors on her way to help guiding Austin College to its first-ever SCAC Tournament Title and a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament earlier this month.
