LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Johnson & Wales University (Denver) women's basketball player Katey Guzman has been named to the Academic All-District First Team, selected by CoSIDA and recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Guzman, a sophomore from Fort Collins, Colo., is one of just five players selected for NCAA Division III District 8, which includes schools from 21 states and Canada. The starting guard for the Wildcats is currently seventh in the SCAC in scorsing (15.6 points per game), sixth in three-point field goals made (47) and ninth in free throw percentage (71.2).
Guman, in addition to her work on the court, currently boasts a perfect 4.00 grade-point-average in marketing. As a First Team All-District selection, Guzman is now eligible for Academic All-America honors.
