Texas Lutheran Softball Earns NFCA All-Academic Team Honor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released the 2014-15 Division III All-Academic Teams Tuesday and Texas Lutheran University earned the honor.

The Bulldogs hold a team grade point average of 3.414, which ranked 25th among all NCAA Division III institutions.

TLU showed their skill on the field, earning the SCAC title during both the regular season and tournament in 2015. The Bulldogs posted a perfect 23-0 record in conference action, led by the pitching of Taylor Grissom.

Grissom, the 2015 SCAC Pitcher of the Year, earned Capital One Academic All-American honors last season, boasting a 3.86 GPA. Teammate Jacquelyn Brown also earned the prestigious academic honor, holding a 3.87 GPA in accounting.

Twelve members of the Bulldogs' squad were named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll, more than any other member institution. To make this list, student-athletes have to hold a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater.

The NFCA rankings recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across seven membership divisions.
