SEGUIN, Texas – The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs gained another three spots in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 poll for NCAA Division III. The Bulldogs advanced from No. 19 to No. 16 in this week's poll.

In the prior week's poll, TLU moved up four spots, to No. 19 from No. 23. TLU is also ranked fourth in the West Region by the NCAA.

The Bulldogs enter this weekend's SCAC Softball Championship with a school-record 30-game win streak still intact. TLU (33-4) won the 2015 SCAC regular-season title. The Bulldogs went 23-0 in conference play.

TLU is the top seed for the SCAC Softball Championship. The defending conference champion, TLU is 44-1 all-time in the SCAC. Counting last season's 3-0 record in conference tournament, the Bulldogs are 47-1 against conference opponents over the last two seasons.

The SCAC Softball Championship starts Friday and concludes Sunday. The tournament will be played at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas.

TLU opens the tournament at 4 p.m. Friday against either No. 4 seed Southwestern or No. 5 seed Austin College. The Pirates and Kangaroos play at noon.

Wednesday's ranking is the third Top 25 appearance of the season for TLU. The Bulldogs entered the poll two weeks ago, at No. 23.

The current ranking is TLU's highest position in the NFCA poll for NCAA Division III.

The ranking is the fourth NFCA ranking in NCAA DIII in school history. The Bulldogs were ranked 20th in the NFCA poll for DIII on April 24, 2013.

TLU's consecutive wins streak in SCAC regular-season play stands at 34 after a four-game sweep of Centenary (La.). The 34 consecutive conference wins set a new SCAC record.
