PARKER PRIMEAUX OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior right-handed pitcher from Lake Charles, La., has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, April 18 through Sunday, April 24. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 11

Primeaux picked up a pair of wins for the Diamond Gents last weekend in Centenary's three-game sweep at home over Southwestern. Primeaux pitched 8.2 total innings, faced 32 total batters, and allowed just one earned run and scattered five hits with one walk and nine strikeouts. Primeaux struck out the side in the top of the ninth in Centenary's 3-2 walk-off win on Friday night in the series opener, getting all three Pirates to go down swinging in a dominant performance. Primeaux is now 8-3 this season with a 3.43 ERA, two complete games, and two saves.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year right-handed pitcher Apollo Cassimatis of Schreiner went seven innings while striking out five and scattering 11 hits in an SCAC win over Austin College last weekend.  Junior right-hander Chris Parsons of St. Thomas continued his hot stretch on the mound, earning a win over Dallas, going seven innings, and striking out six while allowing just three hits. Parsons now has 20 strikeouts in his last two outings. Senior right-handed pitcher Logan Fisher of Texas Lutheran picked up a huge win on the bump against No. 15 Trinity last Sunday night, throwing six innings, allowing just one run on four hits, while striking out five.  Sophomore right-hander Joseph Chavana of Trinity opened the SCAC weekend series against No. 25 Texas Lutheran with a complete-game victory to propel No. 15 Trinity to a 2-1 record last week. Chavana notched his third complete game in four starts this season, improving his record to 7-1 with a 4.12 ERA. He struck out eight batters and gave up three runs on four hits over the seven-inning effort that was shortened due to the run-rule. After a tough first inning in which he gave up three runs, Chavana settled in for six shutout innings during which he allowed just two hits.
