MIGUEL VASQUEZ OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior from Lafayette, La., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Friday, January 22 to Sunday, Sunday January 24.
Vasquez helped lead the Gents to a second-place finish at the Austin College Double Dual meet last weekend, winning the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 52.96 and winning gold in the 100-yard freestyle, hitting the wall in 47.85. Vasquez also swam a leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay team that turned in a time of 1:44.44.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Terrin Boehmer of McMurry took home second place in both the 100-yard backstroke (57.09) and 100-yard freestyle (51.71) at the Austin College Double Dual meet last weekend. Senior Nicolas Dunsworth of Ozarks finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke and swam a leg on the second-place 200-free relay team in a dual meet against Williams Baptist.
