Thomas averaged 19.0 points per game while shooting a sizzling 76.2 percent from the floor as the Gents split their first two games of the season. The senior is also averaging 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 83.3 percent from the free throw line and 50.0 percent from beyond the arc.

Senior guard Freddie Ricks III of St. Thomas
kicked off his senior campaign in a big way, averaging 21.0 points in two victories for the Celts. He also made 10 three-pointers while shooting an impressive 52.0% from the floor. Senior guard Mason Green of Texas Lutheran led the Bulldogs to a 2-1 week to open the season, setting a new career-high in scoring twice and capping the weekend with a 26-point, 15-rebound double-double against McMurry, each career highs. Senior guard AJ Clark of Trinity led the 18th-ranked Tigers to a weekend split over the weekend, defeating SUNY-Fredonia 83-48 before falling to hosting No. 11 Rochester 78-63 in the Tournament Championship. Clark finished with a game-high 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting in Friday's win over Fredonia, collecting a team-leading seven assists to go with five rebounds. In Saturday's game, he hit 4-for-9 from the field and paired nine points with six rebounds to finish off the weekend. First-year forward Jordan Hudgins of Austin College had a strong start to his college career, averaging 12.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks-per-game while shooting 72.7% from the field and 90% from the free throw line in a pair of games as the 'Roos went 1-1. Sophomore forward Leo Magnus of Colorado College hit the game-winner, a running three-pointer from just inside the halfcourt line as time expired, to give the Tigers a 65-62 victory over George Fox in the season-opener for both squads. He had a game-high 17 points in the win. Magnus averaged 13.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game per game as CC opened with a 1-1 week. Sophomore guard Beau Cervantes of Schreiner came off the bench and made a huge impact for a Mountaineer team that finished 2-0 on its weekend road trip through Abilene, Texas. Cervantes averaged 10.0 points while shooting 71.4% from three-point range and dished out four assists and grabbed five rebounds.
