SCAC Women's Basketball Recap - Week 3

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The Thanksgiving holiday did not stop the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball squads who hit the floor for week three of the 2018-19 season. 

Austin College (4-0) continued its unbeaten streak with a 60-57 win over No. 14 UT-Dallas on Saturday. Senior guard Bryce Frank had another double-double performance for the Roos' with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

On Friday, Trinity (4-1) took on Sul Ross State where it won 79-62. The Tigers were led by sophomore guard Emily Daniel who posted a 17-point performance. Earlier in the week, Hardin-Simmons handed the Tigers their first loss of the season. 

Texas Lutheran (4-2) earned wins over McMurry and Concordia (Tex.) but fell to Hardin-Simmons. Freshman forward Morgan Rodriguez came off the bench shooting 72.2 percent from the field adding 15 points against Concordia. Also performing well for TLU were sophomore guard Tara Molina, who averaged 4.0 assists-per-game over the three-game-stretch, and senior guard Cami Davis, who managed to average 13 points-per-game despite missing the Bulldog's most recent contest due to injury. 

Colorado College (3-2) started the week off with victories over La Verne and St. Olaf but concluded the week with a loss to East Texas Baptist. Against La Verne, each Tiger starter posted double-digit point performances. Sophomore guard McKenzee Gertz led the Tigers averaging 18 points and 8.0 rebounds-per-game while classmate Jade Odam led performers last week averaging 4.3 assists-per-game.

Southwestern (1-4) pushed past Concordia to earn its first victory of the season. In the win, junior forward Cecily Woolfolk contributed a double-double for the Pirates with 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Pirates fell to 1-2 on the week with losses to UT-Dallas and Hardin Simmons. 

The women's basketball schedule continues on Tuesday with Schreiner (0-6) hosting Howard Payne while Centenary (0-5) and Southwestern go on the road to face Millsaps and Mary Hardin-Baylor, respectively.
