IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas has announced Bri Calver as the next head women's basketball coach. She is the 16th person to be named at the helm for the program and has accepted her first head coaching appointment after spending the past six seasons as an assistant at two NCAA Division III schools (three seasons apiece).
Calver previously served as an assistant coach at Hendrix College for three seasons. The Warriors garnered a combined 46-37 record with a pair of trips to the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship Game. In her first season in Conway, the Warriors went 18-11 overall and earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament after capturing the SAA Tournament Title.
Hendrix improved to 19-9 in 2017-18 and was edged in the SAA Championship by a point in overtime.
Calver coached the SAA Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team selection Sara Dyslin.
Before Hendrix, Calver spent three seasons at Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio as a graduate assistant. While there, she helped lead the Beavers to their first ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament on a 25-3 season in 2015-16. She coached four All-HCAC players and the all-time leading scorer, Macey Sheerer.
As a collegiate player, Calver lettered four years at the NCAA Division II University of Massachusetts Lowell. She was a career 83 percent free throw shooter and shot a 37 percent clip from three-point territory.
Calver earned her Master of Business Administration with a Sports Management concentration in 2016 at Bluffton.
In 2013, Calver graduated from UMass Lowell with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a Psychology & Sociology concentration.
