In this, the third year of the event, SCAC Assistant Commissioner Katie Mucci (@katiemucci) and Sports Information and Multimedia Assistant Blake Childers (@SCAC_BChilders) will visit each of the eight campuses of the conference over the course of 10 days.
This year's tour will be promoted via the conference's Twitter (@SCAC_Sports), Instagram (@SCAC_Sports) and Snapchat (scacsports) accounts. You can also follow the progress of the tour by using the hashtag #SCAC8in8.
Additionally, the SCAC will again enlist the assistance of a student-athlete representative from each campus to shoot video and take pictures, which will be posted on the conference's Instagram and YouTube accounts as well as an original video from the conference representatives.
Limited edition #SCAC8in8 prizes will be given out by student reps who will be asking SCAC- and institution-based trivia questions throughout the campus visit.
On Friday, Blake and Katie received a campus tour from senior Katie Waters, a senior guard on the women's basketball team at Colorado College, and also caught up with assistant cross country and track and field coach Alex Nichols. Nichols, a CC grad and former SCAC Runner-of-the-Year (2007), shared some of his more recent running exploits and experiences. Click here to view the video if it does not appear below.
After the morning visits, Blake and Katie headed over to Stewart Field to watch the Colorado College men take on the University of Dallas in the SCAC opener for both squads. Despite outshooting the visiting Crusaders 18-9, the Tigers had to settle for a draw as Dallas tied the match with 23 seconds remaining in regulation. (Game recap)
Juniors Stefani Messick and Katie Sandfort, who are both members of the women's cross country and track and field teams, gave us a behind-the-scenes look inside the CC athletics facility as well as some fun gameday footage at the men's soccer match on Friday.
