ORLANDO, Fla. – Trinity women's tennis players Ruth Hill and Olivia Kim were eliminated on the first day of the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships on Friday at the United States Tennis Association National Campus.

Hill opened the day with a first-round singles victory, knocking off The College of New Jersey's Charlotte Roarty in straight sets (6-1, 6-4). That victory also qualifies her as a 2023 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American in singles. Hill advanced to face off against third-seeded Nika Vasely of Wesleyan University (CT), but was eliminated with a 6-2, 6-3 loss.

Hill and Kim drew the No. 4 seed team Danna Taylor and Crystal Zhou of Carnegie Mellon University in the first round of the doubles tournament. The Tiger duo lost 6-1, 6-3 and was eliminated as well.
Hill is Trinity's first player to qualify for both singles and doubles in one year since Mackenzie Knoop in 2012.

Trinity Head Coach Drew Cohn has led Trinity to back-to-back Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships and NCAA Playoff appearances in his third season at the helm of the Tigers.
