Trinity's Clark Earns Third Consecutive SCAC Men's Basketball Elite 19 Award

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- In an announcement made tonight at the conference tournament, Trinity University's A.J. Clark was named the 2023 SCAC Men's Basketball Elite 19 award winner.

It is the third consecutive year he has won the award, making him just the second SCAC student-athlete to earn the award three times in a single sport during a career. Megan Koch of Colorado College was named the Elite 19 winner for Women's Track for three consecutive years from 2020-2022.

Clark, a senior guard from San Antonio, Texas, currently holds a cumulative GPA of 3.913 in Business Analytics/Communication Management and earned First Team All-SCAC honors this season. He is the first men's basketball player to win the award more than once.

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each of the league's 19 sponsored sports as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First, Second or Third Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
