MACK LUCIO OF UNIVERSITY OF THE OZARKS, a senior shortstop/pitcher from Bedford, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Hitter-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 17 through Sunday, March 23. SCAC Softball Release - Week 7

Lucio hit a scorching .714 with a pair of homers and seven RBI to push the Eagles to a double-header sweep against Rhodes on the road last Friday. In game one, Lucio went a perfect 3-for-3 blasting two home runs and driving in five. She followed that performance with two more hits and two more RBI in game two. Lucio also picked up the win in the circle to help her own cause in game two. She finished the week with a league best 1.714 slugging percentage. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior catcher/first baseman Abby Touchet of Centenary had a big weekend at the plate for the Ladies as she helped lead the Maroon and White to a home sweep over Southwestern by driving in five runs and collecting two hits including one home run. Touchet walked twice and scored one run and slugged a three-run home run in a 5-1 win in game one of a DH on Saturday - her fourth of the season. Senior outfielder Mercedes Camacho of McMurry led the War Hawks to a three-game series sweep over Dallas last week. Camacho posted a .500 batting average (4-for-8), with a home run, two runs scored, three RBI and one walk to post a .556 on-base percentage. Senior outfielder Delayne Moreno of St. Thomas was outstanding at the plate in leading the Celts to a perfect 5-0 week, including a three-game series sweep against Schreiner. Moreno hit .583, going 7-for-12 with a double, three runs scored, three stolen bases and two RBI. Historically, Moreno surpassed the 100-hit and 50-RBI plateau over the weekend as well. Junior catcher Taylor Vannett of Texas Lutheran continues to be a consistent presence at the plate for the Bulldogs, leading TLU to a sweep of Austin College with four RBI on the weekend while maintaining a .444 average. She produced a hit in all three games, including two in the series finale on Saturday. Senior corner infielder Peyton Bowser of Trinity batted .556 (5-for-9) over the three games, collecting five RBI and scoring another run in the Tigers conference series sweep of Concordia at home. She batted 3-for-3 with a season-high three RBI in the 11-2 win to open the series, then closed out the week with a 2-for-3 afternoon during which she also had two RBI.
