First year forward Jetta Broquard of Austin College made her collegiate debut a memorable one, delivering a second-half goal to break open a scoreless tie and give the 'Roos a 1-0 victory over Willamette. Broquard finished the weekend, in which the 'Roos went 1-0-1, with three shots, including two on goal, to go along with her game-winner. Senior forward Patricia Heckendorn of Concordia registered a brace, scoring twice in the Tornados’ 4-1 win over Huston-Tillotson last Friday in the season opener. Senior forward Jaelynn Portillo of McMurry led the War Hawks to an impressive 7-0 opening season victory over Lyon after registering a goal and an assist for three total points. Sophomore forward Jackie Powell of Southwestern scored twice last weekend, registering a goal in both fixtures, including the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Occidental on Monday. First year forward Lilly Noblett of Texas Lutheran opened her collegiate debut with two shots on target and one goal, getting the start in a tough 2-1 loss against ranked Hardin-Simmons on Friday night. First year midfielder Bri Werner of Trinity led the Tigers to a tie and a victory to open the season last weekend, beginning with a scoreless draw against Occidental, and finishing with a 3-0 shutout of Hardin-Simmons. Werner had a goal and an assist in Sunday night's win over Hardin-Simmons, notching the eventual game-winning goal in the 12th minute. She then assisted on the only second-half goal of the game, putting the finishing touches on the victory for the Tigers.
