GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern University head softball coach Angela Froboese earned her 200th career victory with a 6-1 win over Schreiner University this afternoon. The Pirates then completed the sweep with a 2-1 win in today's second game.
Froboese entered the 2013 season with 192 wins and is now the only active Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) softball coach to tally at least 200 career wins.
Froboese is in her fifth season at Southwestern where she has guided the Pirates to a 116-69 record. Prior to starting the Southwestern softball program, Froboese spent four season as the head coach at Howard Payne University where she led the team to an 85-65 mark from 2004-2007.
In seven of the past eight seasons that Froboese has coached, she has guided her teams to a .500 or better season including two seasons where her teams tallied winning percentages of over .700 (2007, 2010).
Froboese has guided the Pirates to four straight SCAC postseason appearance including one SCAC championship and one NCAA regional appearance (2010) and is a three-time SCAC Coach of the Year (2009-2011).
