KALEB KIRK OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman right handed pitcher from Nacogdoches, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, April 26th.
Kirk held the No. 30 Texas Lutheran hitters to four hits in his first complete-game win of the season
Kirk native held the Bulldogs off the scoreboard and helped lead the Gents to the outright SCAC regular season title and the host of the 2015 SCAC Championships, the first for the program since 1990 (the Atlantic Sun Conference).
Kirk fanned nine during the week and posted a 0.60 ERA it two starts against top top 30 teams.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore right handed pitcher Hayden Ray of Schreiner had a game victory over Southwestern only giving up one run on seven hits. Senior right handed pitcher Thomas Harwell of Texas Lutheran tossed a complete game, allowing just one earned run (two runs total) in eight innings of work. Senior right handed pitcher Matt Tindall of Trinity tossed six shutout innings in the series opener, allowing just one hit, and striking out eight batters. His performance set the table for the team's three-game sweep, which led to Trinity finishing in a tie for second in the SCAC standings this season. Austin College, Dallas, and Southwestern did not nominate anyone.
