Trent Rape, Trinity University, Baseball - Co-Pitcher of the Week (Week 10)

TRENT RAPE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior right handed pitcher from Waller, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, April 12th.

Rape pitched Trinity to a series sweep of the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon, earning the victory in his only appearance.

Rape threw seven shutout innings in the 5-0 Tiger victory, allowing just six hits, and striking out eight batters. He never allowed a runner to reach third base during his time on the mound, and just one of the six hits went for extra bases.

For the season, Rape is 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA - a mark that is second among all Trinity pitchers. Rape has struck out 48 batters in 44.0 innings pitched, giving up 12 earned runs and walking 15 batters. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Kaleb Kirk of Centenary saw action in a pair of contests over the week and registered a pair of wins on the mound. The freshman tallied a team-leading 10.2 frames on the bump and held opponents to a .233 batting average with a 0.84 ERA. Senior pitcher Aaron Aleman of Texas Lutheran tossed his fourth complete game of the year and third in SCAC play and helped lead the Bulldogs to a 6-3 win in the series opener against Southwestern. DallasSchreiner, and Southwestern did not nominate anyone.
