MIKE
WALKER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior left
handed pitcher from Humble, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday,
February 22nd.
Walker led Trinity in finishing off a three-game
series sweep against Dallas on Sunday afternoon, earning the
victory in his first start of the 2015 season.
Walker threw six shutout innings in a 12-0 victory for Trinity, allowing just two hits among 21 batters faced, and striking out six players without allowing a walk. His efforts led the Tigers to their first shutout of the season.
For the season, Walker is now 2-1 with a team-best 1.98 ERA in his three appearances. Walker has pitched 13.2 innings on the year, allowing three earned runs, and holding the opposition to a .191 batting average.

Freshman pitcher
Jeremy Rice of Southwestern allowed one unearned run on
one hit with four strikeouts and two walks. A 0.00 ERA and .050
batting average against to go 1-0 for the week in six innings of
work. Freshman pitcher
Dylan Drgac of Texas Lutheran came one out shy of his
first complete game of his TLU career, pitching 6.2 innings in
a win against Hardin-Simmons, giving up just five hits and two
runs. Centenary did not play.
