RYAN
GRAY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior left
handed pitcher from Tucson, Ariz., has been selected the SCAC
Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, March
1st.
Gray pitched the 18th-ranked Tiger baseball
team to a 9-2 win over Cardinal Stritch, extending the team's
winning streak to four games.
In his first start of the 2015 season, Gray tossed five no-hit innings to start the game, allowing the Tiger offense to stake him to a 5-0 lead. He finished with 6.0 innings pitched, allowing two runs on three hits, and striking out seven CSU batters.
For the season, Gray is now 1-0 with a 6.00 ERA, allowing six earned runs in 9.0 innings. He pitched in his fourth game of the season last week, and has tallied 13 strikeouts against just three walks. Opponents are hitting .161 against the left-hander this season, and Gray has allowed just one extra-base hit on the year.
