TAYLOR HENRY OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a senior left handed pitcher from Bossier City, La., has been selected the SCAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, March 29th.
Henry played a key role in all three wins for the Centenary Gents over the Austin College 'Roos this past weekend in SCAC action.
Henry made three relief appearances over the weekend to log a 1-0 record along with two saves, posting a 0.00 ERA with 5.2 innings on the mound. The hurler held Austin College hitless in the three appearances without allowing a run, fanning nine and only walking two.
Henry is third in the SCAC in strikeouts with 43 in only 31.2 and is first in conference season only with 33 punch outs. He is the leader in appearances with 14 and strikeouts per game with 12.22 and is third in ERA with 1.71.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Collin Buckley of Southwestern made two appearances and allowed just one earned run and five hits in eight innings. He struck out two and walked none with a 1.12 ERA. Junior pitcher Ryan Gray of Trinity was 1-0 with a save in his only two appearances last week, having a hand in both of Trinity's wins during a 2-2 week overall. Gray allowed one run on five hits over his 9.0 innings pitched, striking out 14 batters and walking just two. Austin College, Dallas, and Schreiner did not nominate anyone.
