BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After making an NCAA record 24 three point field goals, the Sewanee women's basketball team rolled past Judson College 125-58 Saturday afternoon inside Bill Battle Coliseum.

With the victory, the Tigers are 2-1 this season. On the afternoon, Sewanee broke two NCAA records, three school records while tying for the most points in a single game in SCAC history.

The Tigers' 24 three point field goals broke the previous mark by two baskets. Before Saturday, Centenary (NJ) held the record after they defeated Trinity (DC) on January 22, 2009.

Combined with Judson's seven makes, both teams now hold the NCAA single-game record for most made three point fields goals in a game (31). The Tigers and Eagles broke the previous record held by Ill. Wesleyan and Fontbonne. Wesleyan and Fontbonne combined for 27 made three's on December 4, 2007.

Additionally, Sewanee broke the school record for most points in a single game while tying the SCAC record. Furthermore, Sewanee's 70 second half points were only eight off the NCAA single-half record held by Muhlenburg back on December 8, 2004.

As a team, all 16 Tigers scored in the game. Guard Logan Miller led the way with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting. In addition, Heather Baier added 20 points while four other Sewanee players posted double figures.

Defensively, Sewanee forced 34 Judson turnovers. Guard Shekinah Lewis led the Eagles with 20 points. Joycelyn Seidule also played well after she posted 12 points and 13 rebounds for Judson.

Both Baier and Lewis were named to the 2011 Sheraton Birmingham Classic All-Tournament Team.

Sewanee returns to action with a 6:00 p.m. contest at Agnes Scott College November 22.
