LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Texas Lutheran University secured a fourth consecutive regular season title this weekend with a sweep of Trinity University.
Texas Lutheran University (34-4, 22-0 SCAC) extended its win streak to a school-record 34 games with a series sweep over the Tigers (13-23, 5-15 SCAC). The Bulldogs will be the top seed at the 2017 SCAC Softball Championship on their home field in two weeks.
Southwestern University (22-10, 15-3 SCAC) earned four wins over the weekend with a series sweep of Schreiner University (19-17, 10-10 SCAC), extending their win streak to seven games.
The University of Dallas, Trinity and Austin College continue to compete for the final two spots in the tournament. After last week, UD and TU hold the edge in the standings, but the 'Roos aren't out yet, just three games behind the Tigers and four games behind Dallas.
Dallas and Austin College will meet this weekend in the final conference series. Trinity will face Southwestern.
