HOW IT HAPPENED

• Trinity jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the top of the first only to see Southwestern come back with two of its own in the bottom of the inning.
• Southwestern racked up 14 hits in the game to just four for Trinity.
• Four of the six runs Southwestern scored in the fifth inning were unearned.
• Southwestern is in the winner's bracket semifinal game for the first time in program history.

NOTABLES

• Lindsey Longuet improved to 14-4 on the season with her complete game, four-hitter.
• After allowing three hits in the first inning, Longuet allowed just one the rest of the way, including none after the second inning.
• The 14 hits by Southwestern are tied for the second-most in a game by the Pirates in the month of April. They had 16 versus Dallas on April 1.
• Southwestern played Texas Lutheran just twice during the regular season. The second doubleheader between the two schools was lost due to weather and never rescheduled. 

UP NEXT

Southwestern advances to play Texas Lutheran in tomorrow's semifinal winner's bracket game at 2 p.m., with the winner advancing to Sunday's championship round. Trinity will play the University of Dallas in an elimination game scheduled for Noon on Saturday.
