Centre draws Eastern Mennonite in NCAA First Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Centre College, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champions, will play at host Eastern Mennonite University on Friday, March 5 in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament. Centre, 18-8, will travel to Harrisonburg, Va. to square off against the host Royals (22-4). Eastern Mennonite lost to Randolph-Macon, 82-80, in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinals. The Royals enter the game winners in seven of their past eight games while the Colonels enter NCAA postseason play on an eight game winning streak.

The Colonels are making their fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the program's 13th overall. Eastern Mennonite, one of four ODAC shools to make this year's field of 61 teams, is making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

The winner of the Centre vs. Eastern Mennonite game will play the winner of the Wilmington College (Ohio) (21-7) vs. Lycoming College (Pa.) (21-6) game Saturday, March 6 at Eastern Mennonite.

Centre was the only SCAC team selected to the tournament this year. Head coach Greg Mason owns a 2-3 career record in the NCAA Tournament and has never faced an ODAC school in NCAA postseason play.
