Former Tiger All-American Snags Passes in NFL Divisional Playoff Game

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Jerheme Urban, a former Trinity University football and track star, was in the lineup during the NFC Divisional game against the New Orleans Saints Saturday.

Urban, a six-year NFL veteran, snagged two passes for 34 yards at the Louisiana Superdome. New Orleans won the game 45-14.

For the season, Urban caught 18 passes for 186 yards. He was a member of Arizona's 2009 Super Bowl team, where he caught a pass for a first down from Kurt Warner.

Urban's best NFL season was 2008 (with the Cardinals), when he had 34 receptions for 448 yards and four touchdowns. The 6-foot-3, 207-pound Urban also played with the Seattle Seahawks, and was invited to the Dallas Cowboys camp. Urban's career stats are 87 receptions, 1,231 yards, and seven touchdowns.

A native of Victoria, Texas, Urban holds the career Trinity record for touchdowns scored (40), from 1999-2002. Urban previously held the mark for kick return yardage (1,000 yards). The record was broken this past season by his younger brother, Caleb. Jerheme Urban was elected as an All-American in 2002, and was a three-time member of the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Team.

Urban was named the SCAC Male Track and Field Athlete of the Year,  from 2000-2003. He won a SCAC-record 12 individual titles, in six events, at the conference championships.  He graduated from Trinity in 2003.
