SCAC Women's Basketball Recap - Week Eight

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - SCAC conference play was in full swing this week.

The Austin College 'Roos continued to stretch their winning streak into double digits at 10 and are currently undefeated in SCAC play after this weekend's two games. The Roo's took down Colorado College on Friday then Dallas on Sunday. This is the second time in the last three seasons that the 'Roo's have started conference play 5-0. 

Centenary College put up big fights against their opponents this weekend. Despite the losses to Dallas 60-55 and Colorado College 63-59, the Ladies' set personal season highs each game. Junior Savanah Doty set a season-high seven triples and lead the team in points with 12 in the game against the Tigers.

Schreiner University split their weekend games. The 'Neers posted a 69-64 win over the Southwestern Pirates. Schreiner sophomore Kendra Brown picked up 25 points and eight boards.

Trinity University is also undefeated in conference play at 4-0. The Tigers posted two wins over Texas Lutheran and Southwestern. Tiger senior Micah Weaver had an incredible game against the Bulldogs posting 27 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six steals. The game marked Weaver's second double-double of the season. The Tigers forced 22 turnovers and held the Bulldogs to just under 30 percent shooting.

Coming off the loss to Trinity, the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs bounced back in their win against Schreiner on Saturday. Junior Cami Davis has been having a stand-out first season with TLU and lead the Bulldogs with 13 points, eight boards, and four assists. As a team, the Bulldogs shot an impressive 50.9 percent from the field.

Dallas also split their weekend's games coming off a huge 32-point win over Southwestern Adventist on Wednesday. Earning the firsst conference win this season, the Crusaders edged past the Ladies with six straight points in the last three minutes of the match. Senior Michelle DeCoud posted her eighth double-double of the season, putting up 19 points and 14 rebounds. The 60 points for the Crusaders match a season-high in conference play in back-to-back outings.
