SCAC Women's Basketball Recap - Week Seven

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - SCAC conference play was in full swing this week.

The Austin College 'Roos continued to stretch their winning streak to eight after this weekend's two games. The Roo's beat both Southwestern and Texas Lutheran 78-55 and 93-42, respectively. Two-time SCAC Player of the Week so far this season, Bryce Frank, currently leads the SCAC in field goal percentage (.55).

Centenary College earned their first conference win of the season over Texas Lutheran 67-52. Ladies' Jasmine Morris lead the team in points and steals with 17 and five, respectively. Deunya Small of Centenary lead the Ladies' in rebounds and assists with 10 and three, respectively.

First year Head Coach for Schreiner University, Sam Davidson, earned her first two conference wins with the Mountaineers. Schreiner took down Colorado College in a close 73-69 game. Mountaineers' freshman Sydney Williams earned her first double-double of her collegiate career with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Mountaineers then earned a team-effort win over the University of Dallas 72-60.

Southwestern University ended their weekend games on a high note with a 62-54 win over Centenary-their first conference win of the season. Junior Tori Carraway lead the Pirates with 16 points, 13 rebounds and two steals.

Trinity University stretched their win streak to four after this weekend's two conference games. The Tigers quickly jumped to a 15-4 lead in the first quarter against Dallas which set the tone for the rest of the game. Julia Ackerman and Kate Irvin of Trinity both came off the bench and earned double-doubles this game. The team then took on Colorado College on Saturday. In a 97-54 win over the Colorado College Tigers, the Trinity Tigers held their opponent to less than 36 percent shooting, recorded 17 steals and forced 33 turnovers in the game.
