LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference placed two women's basketball players on the All-South Region team released Tuesday.
The two SCAC Women's Basketball Co-Players of the year, Austin College's Bryce Frank and Trinity University's Micah Weaver, each earned first-team recognition.
Frank, a junior forward from Granbury, Texas, finished second in the conference with 18.2 points-per-game while also leading the SCAC in rebounding for the second year in a row, pulling down 10.3 rebounds-per-game. She also led the SCAC with a 53.4% field goal percentage, in addition to finishing fifth in assists-per-game with 3.2 per-game.
Weaver, a senior guard from Poth, Texas, led the conference with 19.5 points per game, while coming in just behind Frank in field goal percentage, shooting 51.2%. She was also fourth in the league from distance, shooting 40%. For the season, she totaled 70 steals and 87 assists, both rank top-four in the conference.
Weaver led the Tigers to a third-straight SCAC Women's Basketball title and a trip to the NCAA tournament.
