Trinity's Piske, Murphy Sweep SCAC Runner-of-the-Week Honors

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Trinity University's Taylor Piske and Maddie Murphy have been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Male and Female Runners-of-the-Week, respectively, for Week Eight of the 2013 SCAC Cross Country season.

 

 

 

 

 

SCAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Saturday, October 19

TAYLOR PISKE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Richardson, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, October 20.

Piske finished his 8K run in 25:54.96 at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, racing home in 84th place (among 566 entrants). His new personal best time is the fifth-fastest in school history in the 8K.



SCAC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Meets through Saturday, October 19

MADDIE MURPHY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Corpus Christi, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, October 20. It is the third time this year she has earned Runner-of-the-Week honors.

Murphy finished eighth at the UW-Oshkosh Brooks Cross Country Invitational over the weekend, leading the Tigers to a fourth-place finish among stiff competition. Her time of 21:48 in the 6K race was a personal best, and she became just the second women’s player in school history to break 22 minutes.  The time ranks second all-time in school history.
