HANOVER, Ind. -- Colorado College junior Nick Hall
finished 60th in a field of 275 individual entries at the NCAA
Division III championship meet in Hanover, Ind., with an 8K
clocking of 25:37.8. Results
After falling shy of earning All-America status by less than 13
and a half seconds on Saturday, Colorado College's three-time
all-region performer will be ready to join the ranks of the
national elite as a senior in 2014.
The junior from Northbrook, Ill., finished 60th in a field of 275
individual entries at the NCAA Division III championship meet in
Hanover, Ind., with an 8K clocking of 25:37.8. The runner who
claimed 35th – the cutoff spot for All-America accolades
– turned in a 25:24.4.
"It was a great ending to the season for him, very exciting to see
him do so well," CC head coach Ted Castaneda said of Hall, who
took 219th at nationals as a freshman in 2011 and 254th as a
sophomore in 2012. "It's going to make the trip home much easier,
and next year he'll be shooting to become an All-American."
Hall, the two-time defending Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference champion, led the Tigers at every meet this season. He
earned a trip to Saturday's national competition, hosted by Hanover
College, with an eighth-place showing (25:20.78) at the Division
III West Regionals in Claremont, Calif., a week ago.
Michael LeDuc of Connecticut College, who blazed to a 24:29.3 on
Saturday, was crowned national champion while St. Olaf College won
the men's team title. Women's honors went to Johns Hopkins
University.
