Trinity Men Ninth, Colorado College 11th, Southwestern 20th at NCAA Cross Country Regionals

Led by sophomore Taylor Piske's 22nd-place finish, Trinity University placed ninth at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country South/Southeast Regional Saturday morning, which was contested at the Lee Hall Mansion course in Newport News, Va. Southwestern finished in 20th place. Meanwhile, at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country West Regional on the campus of Pomona College, Colorado College placed 11th behind a eighth-place individual finish from SCAC Runner-of-the-Year Nick Hall, who earned a berth to the national meet by virtue of being one of the top seven finishers not affiliated with a qualifying team.

Piske, who finished 22nd with a time of 25:55.25, earned All-Region honors with his top 35 finish.

Rounding out Trinity's runners, sophomore Phillip Flagg finished 45th (26:33.63), senior Gerardo Hernandez was 54th (26:44.39), sophomore Chris Soto was 59th (26:53.57), freshman Tristan Ashton was 72nd (27:18.28), freshman Evan Epps was 75th (27:20.67) and junior Brandon Douglas was 103rd (28:07.67).

Southwestern University finished in 20th place. The Pirates were led by sophomore Alex Medrano who placed 77th among 174 individuals with a finishing time of 27:22.37.

Rounding out the remainder of Southwestern's contingent, senior Joe Sponsel placed 120th (28:34.48), senior Alec Bergerson was 134th (29:29.93), senior Philip Davis was 143rd (29:47.53), freshman Charlie Hutchison was 147th (29:54.78), sophomore Duncan Bradley was 157th (30:35.08) and freshman Kyle Bauernschmitt was 165th (31:41.39). 

Austin College, Centenary College and the University of Dallas did not compete in the regional competition.

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Junior Nick Hall breezed to an eighth-place individual finish (25:20.78) and fellow junior Graham Frank placed 34th (26:23.76) to lead Colorado College to an 11th-place team finish at the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country West Regional, hosted by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. Both Hall and Frank earned All-Regional status by finishing in the top 35, and Hall will race in the national championship meet as an individual.

Rounding out the CC runners was junior Will Richmond (40th - 26:38.04), sophomore Jacob Rothman (95th - 27:57.32), sophomore Tucker Hampson (103rd - 28:04.76), freshman Ezra Coopersmith (104th - 28:05.45) and freshman Conor Terhune (113th - 28:56.10). 

Colorado College was the only SCAC school that competed in the West Regional.
