LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -Four of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s cross country teams continued their 2018 campaign this weekend.
For the second-straight week, Trinity took home the team title, winning the OLLU Collegiate Invitational. The Tigers were led by Molly McCullough who won the race, breaking the tape in at 18:45.1. McCullough was closely followed by teammates Jordan Juran and Brianna Ratliff who placed second and third respectively. Senior Allison Hill finished ninth to give the Tigers four runners in the top 10.
Also participating in the OLLU Invitational were Southwestern and Schreiner who placed fourth and tied for fifth. Leading the Pirates was freshman Valerie Acosta who crossed the finish line in 22:08.6, good enough to place 21st overall. Mountaineers freshman Sarah Endres placed 28th at 23:45.6 to lead Schreiner.
Colorado College hosted the Colorado College Invitational last Saturday took home second place. Senior Allysa Warling led the Tigers by finishing fourth overall, crossing the line of the 6k course in 23:29.7. Freshman Lucy Wagner turned in a top 10 finish, finishing ninth in 23:57.6.
The women’s cross country season continues next weekend when Texas Lutheran hosts Dallas and Schreiner at the TLU Bulldog Invitational. Johnson & Wales competes in the Missouri Southern Stampede and Southwestern lines up at the Rhodes Invitational.
