SCAC Women's Cross Country Recap - Week Four

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Five of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country programs continued their 2018 campaigns in week four of the season. 

Texas Lutheran, Dallas, Schreiner and Austin College all competed at the OLLU Saints Invitational 5K on Saturday. The Bulldogs posted a fifth-place finish led by junior Ashley Rynard finishing 18th in 21:05.8. Next to complete the course for TLU was freshman Hannah Martinez, finishing 20th overall in 21:20.7. The Crusaders came in eighth-place as top runners freshman Amanda Wilgenbusch (21:04.5) and sophomore Clare Hernandez (22:49.6) crossed the line at 17th and 38th respectively. 

Schreiner mounted a 10th-place performance at the invitational led by freshman Sarah Endres in 43rd with a time of 23:05.0. Austin College senior Hannah Richards paced the Roos’ with a time of 21:52.4 to finish 28th. The Roos did not score as a team the meet.

Trinity competed at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival 5k where they finished 18th out of 51 squads in a race that included over 400 individual runners. Senior Molly McCullough crossed the line first for the Tigers at 17:49.4, good enough for 15th. Junior Brianna Ratliff was the only other Tiger to finish in the top 100 with an 84th overall finish and a time of 19:00.8. 

Next weekend the SCAC women’s cross country schedule continues with three teams in action, highlighted by Colorado College and Johnson & Wales competing at the New Mexico Highlands Cross Country Jam.
