Donte McGee, Texas Lutheran University, Men's Basketball - Player of the Week (Week 14)

DONTE McGEE OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from Victoria, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, February 22nd.

McGee led Texas Lutheran to the SCAC Regular Season Championship this past weekend, defeating Southwestern University 75-63, to clinch a share. It also marks a tremendous turnaround for the Bulldogs, who finished as the No. 8 seed a year ago and will serve as the No. 1 seed at the upcoming SCAC Men's Basketball Championship

McGee finsihed with 14 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 5-for-10 on the night and 4-of-4 from the charity striple. He also added a steal in the contest as the Bulldogs erased a second half deficit as high as eight in the come-from-behind win in the Doghouse.

For the season, McGee leads the conference in rebounds with 8.4 reb/gm. He is the conference leaders in double-doubles with 10 on the season. He is also fifth in the league in blocks with 20.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Kevin Graham of Austin College made his senior day one to remember, exploding for a career-high 26 points and hitting 7-of-8 three pointers to lead Austin College to a season ending win. For the week, Graham averaged 17.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 52.4% from the field and 69.2% from three point range. Freshman guard Travion Kirkendoll of Centenary led the Gents with 21 points and 5 rebounds in the win at McMurry. The freshman clinched the win with a layup with one second left. Senior forward Aaron Wyatt of Dallas posted double figures on Thursday, and a team-high 18 points to lead Dallas to its first 100-point game in history since the 2000-01 campaign. He went 7-for-11 from the floor. On "Senior Day" Wyatt matched eight points with a team-best in boards to help his squad lock up the No. 4 seed in the SCAC Basketball Championships.
