Trinity XC Women 12th in USTFCCCA National Rankings

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Trinity (Texas) University women's cross country team step up one spot to the No. 12 rank in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings. In the USTFCCCA regional polls, Trinity maintains the No. 1 South/Southeast regional ranking for the seventh straight week.

The Trinity Tigers captured the Southern Collegiate Athletic Cross Country Championships for the second straight year on Saturday at the Clyde Fant course.

The Tigers once again registered a perfect score of 15 in the 6k race, as Tiger runners finished in first though fifth place.

Trinity cross country history was made last year at Irving, Texas, as the Tiger team captured their first-ever SCAC Cross Country Championships. The Tigers became the first women's team in SCAC history to earn a perfect score.

Up next is the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional on November 16, at Newport News, Virginia. The NCAA Championships are slated for Nov. 23 at Hanover, Indiana.
