Steup Heads Seven From SCAC Named To USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) women's cross county student-athletes were named to the 2013 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic teams, the organization announced.

A total of 308 student-athletes represent the 129 institutions that compose the group. 

Trinity University placed a league-high five student-athletes on the team, followed by Colorado College and Southwestern University with one honoree each.

Trinity's Rosemary Steup (pictured) was honored for the third consecutive year, while teammate Nicola Hill made the team for the second straight year. The duo were joined on this year's squad by teammates Madison Murphy, Michelle Oberndorf and Autumn Kervella.

Colorado College's Rebecca Lavietes was also honored as was Lilly Durate of Southwestern University, who made the team for the second consecutive year.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or greater through the most-recent semester and placed in the top 25 percent at their respective NCAA regional championship.
