LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Five of the league's nine women's track and field teams squeezed in one more preparatory meet heading into this weekend's conference championship meet.

Dallas and Schreiner competed at the McMurry War Hawk Classic. Schreiner picked up scoring performances from five different student-athletes, including Kendall Lee in the 200 meters (eighth place with a time of 28.20), Sarah Endres in the 1,500 meters (8th place with a time of 5:24.67), Mikayla Farer in the long jump (fifth place with a jump of 5.20 meters), Yasmine Telles in the discus (eight place with a toss of 28.95 meters) and Ashlyn Esquivel in the hammer (sixth place with a throw of 18.42 meters).

Centenary competed at the Belhaven Invitational where Ashlynn Albert picked up a third place finish in the discus (32.15 meters) and a sixth-place finish in the shot put (9.60 meters) to pace the Ladies.

Texas Lutheran and Trinity competed on Friday and Saturday at the Texas A&M-Kingsville Cactus Cup. Among the standout performers for the Bulldogs, Caeli Taylor won the women's 1,500 meters with a time of 5:10.19, and Jackie Mora finished first in the women's 400 with a time of 1:00.52. Mora won the race by two seconds over Cassandra Williams of Trinity. 

For Trinity, Makenna Bentley and Merriam Scafide tied with two others to win the women's high jump. The Tiger duo both cleared 1.53 meters in the event. Emma Pool finished second in the women's pole vault on Friday, topping 3.00 meters for the fourth time this season. Three Tiger women's throwers set new personal records in three different events on Saturday. Kierra Francois reached 10.15 meters in the shot put for a new personal-best, while Emma Ross had hers with a throw of 30.43 meters in the discus. Maggie Nava led the Tigers with a throw of 27.04 meters in the javelin.

TLU plays host to the rest of the conference for the 2021 SCAC Men's Track & Field Championships, which begins Saturday, April 24 and runs through Sunday, April 25. Click here for the official website of this year's championship meet.
