MARY CARDONE OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from San Antonio, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for matches played Sunday, April 15th.

Cardone went 2-0 in singles last week at the top line, leading the Pirates to a 1-1 record.

Cardone's wins included a vicotry over Caroline Kutach of Trinity University, the No. 3 player in the region and #45 in the nation

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior M. P. Hubert of Texas Lutheran University scored straight set wins at No. 2 singles over Schreiner University this weekend, winning 6-1, 6-3. Sophomore Zoe Kaffen of Trinity University clinched a 6-3 victory for #19 Trinity by winning her line four singles match in three sets over Southwestern, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-5.
