MELODY DUONG OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a first-year from League City, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for matches played through Sunday, March 18.
Duong had a strong week in singles action, going 1-1 at line one and 1-1 at line two. One of her wins at the top line was over Lewis & Clark's top singles player, who is ranked #50 in Division III.
Her loss to the #35 player in Division III from Linfield came down to a third-set tiebreaker.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Annie Zlevor of Colorado College posted a perfect 3-0 singles record and led the Tigers to three straight victories to open their 2018 spring break trip in Orlando, Fla. Senior Megan Ingram of Texas Lutheran University did not drop a singes match in matches played this week and helped the Bulldogs jump to a 7-3 overall record. Sophomore Zoe Kaffen of Trinity University finished with a 3-0 singles record during the week, earning line five wins against #24 Linfield and #13 Washington-St. Louis and a line four win over #7 Bowdoin.
