ANNA SERGIOVANNI OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a sophomore from Richardson, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for matches played Sunday, March 25.
Sergiovanni had an outstanding weekend playing line three singles, going 4-1 to lead the 'Roos to a 3-2 record.
Sergiovanni earned a 6-0, 6-1 win against Trinity University among her four victories, as well as the clinching point in a victory over CalTech.
For the season, she is 13-2, with a 10-1 record at No. 3 singles.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sam Sterling of Schreiner University went 2-1 last week for the Mountaineers. Esther Bowers of Southwestern University won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles against LeTourneau last week. Francesca Canjar of Trinity University won each of her three matches in straight sets over the weekend, playing #5 singles in three of the four Tiger wins.
