CAROLINE KUTACH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from McGregor, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, Feb. 26 through Sunday, March 4.
Kutach won both of her singles matches over the past week, as #16 Trinity went 1-1 against a pair of ranked teams. She now stands 7-2 on the season, with her only losses coming against Division I Air Force Academy and Division II St. Mary's University.
Kutach led the Tigers to a win over #35 Redlands to start the week, securing a win in singles and in doubles. Against #3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Kutach was Trinity's only point of the match, winning at the top line against the nation's third-ranked singles player, Catherine Allen.

Sophomore Anna Sergiovanni of Austin College continued her strong start to the season, going 2-0 at line three singles with victories against UT-Tyler and LeTourneau. Her win at UTT was AC's lone point in the team's loss to a strong Patriots squad. Senior Sam Sterling of Schreiner University posted a perfect 3-0 mark on the weekend at No. 3 singles with victories over University of the Ozarks, Hendrix College and Texas A&M-Texarkana.
