CAROLINE KUTACH OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from McGregor, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for matches played through Sunday, February 11th.
Kutach went 3-0 in singles this week as the #16 Tigers went 1-2 over three tough road matches in Ohio.
Kutach rallied for a three-set victory against 18th-ranked Case Western to start her week, winning 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1. She also won three-set matchups against both Denison (62, 3-6, 6-4) and #9 Chicago (6-4, 3-6, 10-8).
For the season, Kutach is 4-1 overall in singles and her only loss came in the season opener against Division II's eighth-ranked St. Mary's (Texas).
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior Anna Schneemann of Southwestern University won 6-1, 6-0 against Sul Ross State this week. Senior Alli McLain of Texas Lutheran University posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles against the University of the Ozarks.
