ALLI MCLAIN OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior from Rockport, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Tennis Singles Player of the Week for matches played through Sunday, February 4th.
McLain went 2-1 in singles action last week to help the Bulldogs to a 2-1 overall record.
McLain started out the weekend with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Howard Payne University's Chesney Goza Friday before recording a 6-2, 6-1 victory at the top line against Annette Posada of Sul Ross State University on Saturday.
Her only loss on the week came in the No. 1 spot against Kaylin Kruseman of Division II #8 St. Mary's (TX). Kruseman ended the 2017 season ranked in the nation's top-50 in Division II.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Kate Des Los Santos of Schreiner University went 2-1 last week at the No. 4 spot for the Mountaineers, defeating opponents from Sul Ross State and Howard Payne. Junior Caroline Kutach of Trinity University went 1-1 last week against a pair of Division II opponents, defeating the top player from Texas A&M Kingsville 6-3, 6-3.
