TAYLOR
DYDALEWICZ OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a
junior forward from Dripping Springs, Texas, has been selected the
SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played
through Sunday, January 25th.
Dydalewicz led Texas Lutheran in scoring the past
two games to lead the Bulldogs to a 1-1 record on the road, falling
to Austin College, but responding in grand fashion to defeat
Dallas.
Dydalewicz averaged 24.5 pts/gm on the weekend, shooting 19-for-29 from the field, 6-of-9 from behind the arch, and a perfect 5-for-5 from the charity striple. She also pitched in 4.5 reb/gm, and 1.0 stl/gm.
Dydalewicz began the weekend with a 26 point, six rebound effort in a 70-67 loss to Austin College, shooting 10-of-19 from the field. She picked the team up against Dallas though, scoring 23 points and shooting a blistering red hot 9-of-10 from the field and 3-of-3 from behind the arch.
For the season, Dydalewicz leads the SCAC with 18.3 pts/gm and is fourth in the conference in three point percentage at 38.6%. She is also sixth in the conference in field goal percentage (45.2%) and ninth in the conference in free throw percentage (77.3%).

Senior guard Christina
Kime of Austin College had a strong all around weekend
for Austin College as the 'Roos split their two conference games,
averaging 19.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game while
knocking down 45.5% from three point range and 92.5% from the free
throw line. Kime also added 2.5 steals per game. Junior forward Briana Edwards of
Centenary averaged a double-double for the weekend with
13.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in a pair of losses. Senior guard Marleyna Bustamante of
Dallas averaged 21 points-per-game as Dallas went 1-1
on the week. The senior guard from Donna, Texas, was perfect
(8-of-8) from the free-throw line and just missed a season-high by
a point with 18 in a 63-60 win over Southwestern. The next day
Bustamante surpassed her season-best scoring mark with 24 (8-of-12)
in a setback to Texas Lutheran. Junior guard Kelsie Jackson of
Schreiner helped lead the Mountaineers to a 2-1 week
with 49 points (16.3 ppg) and 19 rebounds (6.3 rpg). In the victory
over Centenary, Kelsie had a double/double with 23 points and 11
rebounds. Senior forward
Jordan Owens of Southwestern led the Pirates in
scoring at 21.5 points per game. She posted 25 points in SU's win
over Austin College while shooting 53.1% from the floor and 50%
from three point range. Freshman guard Rebecca Gordon of
Trinity led Trinity to three SCAC wins over the last
week, moving into first place in the league standings with wins
over Schreiner, Centenary, and Colorado College. Gordon averaged
9.0 points/game for the three games, despite playing just under 14
minutes per game for the week. Colorado College did not
nomiante anyone.
