JORDAN
OWENS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior
forward from Richardson, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played
through Sunday, November 30th.
Owens was a major scoring threat for the
Southwestern Pirates all weekend long as they suffered a pair of
tough losses to Howard Payne and Louisiana College this past
weekend.
Owens averaged 27.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 rebounds while shootin 51.1% from the field and 80% from the free throw line to lead the Pirates throughout the weekend.
Against the Yellow Jackets, Owens scored 36 points on 15-of-26 shooting, a new Southwestern scoring record in a single game. She broke her previous mark of 34 set a season ago. Owens also added eight rebounds and two blocks in the game in a two point loss. She followed that up with 18 points, nine rebounds, and two more blocks in a two point loss to the Wildcats.
This season, Owens leads the conference with 21.0 points/game and is third in the conference with eight blocks on the year.

Junior forward Brianna
Harvery of Austin College had an outstanding weekend
for Austin College as the 'Roos topped Rust College before falling
by one on a basket with seven seconds left at No. 25-ranked Rhodes,
averaging 17.0 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 63.6% from
the field and 85.7% from the free throw line. Harvey also added two
assists, a steal, and a block for the weekend. Senior forward Brooke Hagemann of
Dallas notched a season-high 24 points in a 75-66
setback versus Hendrix College. The senior forward was six shy of
tying a career-most she claimed two seasons ago, and also produced
the team's first double-double with a season-best 12 rebounds. Shot
53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the floor and poured in 16 points in
the second half to help UD comeback within single digits in the
latter portion of the contest. Centenary, Colorado College, Schreiner, and Texas Lutheran did
not nominate. Trinity was
idle.
