ANECIA RICHARDSON OF TRINITY
UNIVERSITY, a junior forward from
Mesquite, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s
Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday,
December 7th.
Richardson led Trinity to three road wins over the
past week, including a pair of victories in California against
Chapman and Redlands. Richardson averaged 20.3 points and 5.7
rebounds per contest over the weekend, helping the Tigers to extend
their winning streak to four games.
She connected on 67.9% (19-28) of her shots, as well as 23-27 (85.2%) from the foul line for the week. The week opened on Monday night at Concordia, and Richardson posted a season-best 25 points on 7-7 shooting, as well as hitting 11-13 from the charity stripe.
Against Chapman on Friday night, she posted her third straight 20-point game with 21 points on 7-13 shooting in the Tiger victory.
For the season, Richardson leads Trinity with 16.5 points/game and 4.8 rebounds/game, and is hitting a team-best 61.1% from the floor. She is also the team’s top free throw shooter at 86.8% (33-38) for the year.

Freshman guard Kal
Vittallo of Austin College had a career day and played
a pivotal role in Austin College's win over Hendrix, scoring a
career best 15 points while not missing a shot from the field,
including going 2-for-2 on three pointers. Vittallo also had three
rebounds, three assists, and did not turn the ball over. Junior forward Danielle Davis
of Colorado College recorded her first double-double of
the year and third of her career in Friday's 76-70 overtime loss to
Pacific Lutheran, averaging 11.0 pts/gm and 7.0 reb/gm over the
weekend. Freshman forward
Michelle DeCoud of Dallas produced an outstanding week
combing for 41 points and averaging 13.3 points-per-game (ppg), as
the freshman forward helped Dallas go 2-1. She matched a
career-best in back-to-back contests this weekend at New Hope
Christian College and Linfield College with 17 points. Junior guard Taylor Dydalewicz of
Texas Lutheran scored 27 points against 18th-ranked
Whitworth as she has averaged 28.7 points per game over her
last three contests. Centenary and Southwestern did
not nomiante anyone. Schreiner was
idle.
