JESSICA VARNER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior from Baton Rouge, La., has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for competitions through March 13th.
Playing in a pair of tournaments this week, Varner posted a pair of top-20s – including her fourth win of the season Tuesday at the Pinecrest Intercollegiate. She posted the lone score in the 70s in round two, winning the tournament with a total of 152 (+8). She also finished with the most birdies (six).
On Friday and Saturday, March 9-10, competing against a virtually all d-2 field, Varner finished 17th in the Minot State Intercollegiate in North Las Vegas, improving seven strokes from round one to round two.
