KRISTEN LYE OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from San Antonio, Texas has been named the SCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, February 5th. 

Lye had a strong performance last week, averaging a double-double with 22.0 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. The Bulldogs were 1-1 over the weekend, defeating Schreiner University 71-63, but falling to No. 12 Trinity University in a close game, 74-71.

In the game against the Tigers, Lye had 21 points and 11 rebounds, while also recording four steals, two assists and a block. On the week, she shot 55.6% from the floor and 76.5% from the charity stripe.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward Bryce Frank of Austin College averaged 17.0 points and 12.0 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the 'Roos. Sophomore guard Jasmine Morris of Centenary College averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and two blocks last week as the Ladies posted a 1-1 record on the road. Junior forward Michelle DeCoud of the University of Dallas recorded her 10th double-double of the season with a 17 point, 16 rebounds performance in a 66-50 win over Colorado College. Senior guard Cassandra Aleman of Schreiner University helped the Mountaineers to a close win last week, defeating Southwestern 58-53 on an 11 point, four rebound performance, where she shot 62.5% from the field. Freshman center Cecily Woolfolk of Southwestern University averaged 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds last week for the Pirates. Freshman forward Abby Holland of Trinity University had a big week, averaging 17.5 points, three rebounds and three steals as the Tigers posted a pair of wins and took over the top spot in the conference standings.
