Alyssa Aldaz scored 14 of her season-high 16 points in the
second half, but a 21-point deficit proved too much to overcome as
Colorado College dropped a 71-61 decision to
Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday night. The Coyotes took
advantage of 21 Tiger turnovers to build a 21-point lead with 10:31
remaining in the game, but CC answered with a 24-7 run and pulled
to within 64-57 when Aldaz drained a three-pointer from the left
baseline with 3:00 to play. The deficit was still at seven points
after Becky Luetjen sank a pair of free throws with 2:18 to go, but
Kansas Wesleyan got an uncontested layup and a three-pointer to
secure the victory. Luetjen finished with 15 points and 10
match-high 10 rebounds to record her fourth double-double of the
season. Kalli Kemling scored all 10 of her points during the first

Hendrix and Millsaps College played through 14 lead
changes and eight ties with the Warriors coming out on top, 58-57,
for the SCAC victory on Friday afternoon at The Hangar Dome.
Hendrix (5-2, 2-1 SCAC) grabbed the final lead change on a
3-pointer from junior Avery Roller with just over 10 minutes left
in regulation and the Warriors went up by six points, 52-46, (their
largest lead of the game) on a jumper from junior Jordan Henderson
with 7:06 to go. However, the Majors tied the game with a 6-0 swing
over the next three minutes, 52-52, with 4:11 on the clock.
Henderson and Millsaps sophomore Shante Morton traded shots from
behind the arc on the next two possessions to make it a 55-55
affair with 2:05 left, before Hendrix junior Anna Roane knocked
down the game-winning 3-pointer (her second of the day) off an
assist from Henderson with 1:44 remaining. Junior Samantha Devlin
earned the assist on Henderson’s lone 3-pointer of the day.
Majors’ sophomore Lovie Love made it a one-point contest,
58-57, with 53 seconds on the clock and a pair of Warrior turnovers
nearly cost them the game. Morton missed a layup and a jumper
inside the last 10 seconds. Hendrix senior Christina Byler grabbed
the defensive rebound on Morton’s second miss and the
Warriors ran out the clock to seal the deal. Neither team led by
more than five points in the first half as they battled through 11
lead changes and four ties, finishing the first 20 minutes with
Millsaps on top, 30-28. The Majors opened the second half with an

in the win. Janice Okeke scoring 17 with 16 rebounds, Shante Morton

A wild one Friday night with the Warriors seemed to sap all the
energy right out of Saturday's non-conference with the Lynx. Lovie
Love stole Hendrix final in-bounds pass with three seconds
remaining but couldn't get the final shot off in the 57-58 loss in
Jackson. Rhodes put the Majors' tired legs to good use in the
second half on Saturday, outscoring MC 32-19 in the period. The
Majors will return to action after the Christmas break when they
travel down to Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida.
Oglethorpe lost its only game of the week at home
to Berry College on Friday night, 65-56. The Petrels erased an
early 8 point deficit to lead the Vikings 33-31 at the half but
could only muster 8 second half field goals en route to the loss.
Playing for the first time in 13 days, Oglethorpe showed some rust
in the early stages and fell behind 14-6 with 11:55 to play in the
first half. The Petrels found their rhythm though and put together
a 25-10 run to open up a 7 point lead of their own with 1:33 left
in the half. The Vikings edged closer just before the break to send
the teams into the locker room with Oglethorpe leading 33-31. Berry
wrested the advantage away from Oglethorpe in the early stages of
the second half and took the lead for good after a basket with
17:33 remaining. The Vikings would march the lead up to 9 with
13:24 left but Oglethorpe managed to trim it down to a single point
on two occasions with less than 7 minutes to play. The Petrels
could not get the defensive stops they needed, however, and the
Vikings converted down the stretch to seal the victory. Junior
Kelley Reeves led the charge for Oglethorpe with a team-high 16
points on 6 of 11 shooting from the field to go along with a
game-high 5 steals. Katie Weeks struggled from the field (5-17) but
was the only other Petrel in double figures with 13 points and 7
rebounds. Freshman Ky'Laine Rogers pulled down a game-high 12
rebounds for the Petrels in the loss. Oglethorpe is now 2-5 on the
season and will get set to host their annual Holiday Classic this
Monday and Tuesday. The Petrels face Texas-Tyler at 7:00 p.m. on
Monday and Maryville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

December 18th in Mallory Gymnasium, defeating Millsaps 60-44.
Backed by 12 points in the first half by sophomore Sarah Womack,
the Lynx held a 28-25 lead at the break. "We were very excited
about the way Sarah shot the basketball," said Rhodes head coach
Matt Dean She sparked the team and enabled us to extend our lead in
the second half." Sharwil Bell recorded her second double double of
the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bell was two steals
short of a triple double, recording a career high 8 steals.

Oglethorpe.

victory over host Hiwassee College this afternoon. Logan Miller led
the Tigers with 23 points as Dani Kabbes and Claire Elliott each
chipped in 18. Paige Lowe added 14 and Clarissa Medley tallied 10
points in the contest. Sewanee moves to 2-6 overall with the win.

Southwestern went 1-0 this week, beating Texas Lutheran
University on Friday night to improve to 8-1 on the season. Senior
Anna Fareed opened both halves with two three pointers, giving
Southwestern early leads that pushed them to victory despite TLU's
constant attacks. Free throws once again were the key to the
Pirate's win as they went 14-14 from the line in the final five
minutes to secure the 65-60 win. Fareed had 25 points in the win
while Staley Mullins had her first double-double of the season
posting 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Pirates return from the
